One man, 50 voices, Shakespeare’s immortal
tragedy Macbeth, and TV’s longest-running
cartoon family…do you see where this is
going?
Yes, it’s MacHomer, Shakespeare of a different
sort, with actor Rick Miller maniacally voicing
50 different characters – Homer as Macbeth,
wondering whether he should kill the king
or eat a donut – in a wildly funny show that
salutes both Bart and Bard.
It’s “a hyper fast-forward meld of Shakespeare
and The Simpsons” (San Francisco Chronicle)
that’s “terrific, intelligent and often hilariously
funny” (Los Angeles Times).
Begun by Canadian actor Miller as a castparty
stunt (he was performing in Macbeth as
“Murderer No. 2”), MacHomer quickly became
a fringe-theatre favorite before exploding into
the mainstream. Now, MacHomer regularly
sells out halls across Europe, Australia and the
U.S., from college campuses to the Kennedy
Center. Miller voices nearly every character
in the prolific Simpsons universe in this
“breakneck, one-man tour de force” (London
Sunday Mail).
“The show is a coup for both Shakespeare and The Simpsons.”
